What is your role at Dynamic and how does it help support our clients?
Currently I am working in Business Development and Advisor Support, but I have also worked in Portfolio Management and On-boarding. I help support future clients within Business Development while helping current advisors develop skills to help grow their practices. I also process various Service Requests in order to help wealth managers focus on the important interactions with their clients rather than drain their time on administrivia.
Tell us what attracted you to Dynamic and how your role is (or may be) different from your previous jobs?
Throughout my career, I have focused on Business Development and Wholesaling for various complex financial products. After being on the road for the majority of my career, and having a baby, I decided it was time for a drastic change in my career. I wanted to continue my passion for servicing wealth managers, but getting to eat breakfast with my daughter and put her to bed every night became my top priority. The virtual component of Dynamic’s philosophy was very attractive to me, but after being in the industry for about 13 years, I also knew the value of the services they offer. I truly believe in what we do and am committed to helping advisors grow their practices by freeing up their most valuable resource, time.
Where have you lived before moving to the Valley of the Sun?
I grew up in San Diego, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention I was born in the great state of Ohio. San Diego will always be my home but Ohio is part of what made me who I am. My parents moved to Phoenix in 1999 and I followed them out here after a quick stay in Vail, CO and graduated from ASU. My heart eventually led me back to San Diego where I met my husband and had my daughter. I quickly learned that it takes a village to raise kids and found my heart leading me back to Phoenix to be close to my parents and I couldn’t be happier about that decision.
What is your favorite activity or hobby?
Music! I don’t have the talent to play music but finding new music, listening, and seeing it awakens my soul. I also love cycling and running (for enjoyment and after my daughter).
What compels you to work in a profession servicing wealth managers?
I purposefully chose this industry based upon lessons I have learned growing up. After a series of bad financial decisions, the financial crisis crushed my family. I vowed to learn as much as I could about the financial industry in order to better equip myself for the unknown future. I have been blessed to work with advisors who not only care about their clients, but also have helped them plan for the rollercoaster of life. I am honored to work alongside these advisors and hope to continue to learn from them and contribute to their success.
Who is your favorite Super Hero?
Bo Peep, Toy Story 4 – As you can imagine, with a toddler running my house, Toy Story is on repeat and the characters litter my home. The development of Bo Peep in the latest Toy Story movie puts her in the “Super Hero” category for me. Bo is a strong, level headed, passionate heroine who seeks adventure. She helps Woody rescue Bonnie’s newly created toy, Forky with the spirit of a newfound freedom. She is fearless and spirited, yet warm and humble.
What is a favorite line from a movie?
“I am a valuable commodity! I go across the middle! I see a dude coming at me, trying to kill me, I tell myself “Get killed. Catch the ball!’ BOO YA! Touchdown! I make miracles happen! I’m from Arizona, Jerry! I broke Arizona records! I went to Arizona State! I’m a Sun Devil, man!” – Rod Tidwell, Jerry McGuire
How long is your commute to Dynamic?
About 20 steps.
